Installing TREX decking Pt. 2 - The Picture Frame

I’ve found over the years that running the deck boards long then cutting them afterwards gives me the cleanest finish.

Normally I would do this with a track saw, but since I didn’t have one on hand, a straight edge as a guide works just as well.

I first determine where I want to make the cut, then I add the distance from the blade to the edge of the saw.

Once I’ve got that mark established, I snap a line then screw down my guide on the off cut side of the material.

Once the cut has been made I’m ready to measure, cut and install the frame board.
