Kansas City Public Library asks for tax levy

For the first time since 1996, the Kansas City Public Library is asking for a tax increase. It will be up for vote on the November ballot, proposing to increase property taxes eight cents for every $100 a home is worth. The money would be used to improve the Waldo and Northeast branches, and to maintain digital services.
