As if the Heavy Snow wasn't bad enough, now comes the dreaded "FREEZING FOG"!

Last time it snowed this much here, the weight of it collapsed practically every chicken house in NW Arkansas. It was pretty bad, considering the number of chickens being raised in this part of the world. Then there was that night of the "Death Fog". At that time, there wasn't any snow on the ground here, but "Freezing Fog" settled on the bridges and overpasses up in the Ozark Mountains on I-49 between West Fork and Chester. This resulted in "Black Ice" causing multiple vehicle accidents and people falling to their deaths off the bridge in the middle of the night. A terrible night I will never forget after having to drive past that spot not very long after it happened. ARDOT has since installed live cameras and flashing text road signs to warn drivers of the invisible dangers lurking on the bridges and inside the Bobby Hopper Tunnel.
