A major leap in electric vehicle (EV) technology has been unveiled by Svolt Energy, a subsidiary of Great Wall Motor, during its 5th Battery Day event in Chengdu, China. The company introduced the Fengxing Short Blade Battery, which promises to redefine fast-charging standards for EVs.

This cutting-edge battery can recharge from 10% to 80% in just 8.5 minutes, thanks to its 6C charging multiplier—a remarkable improvement in charging efficiency. In addition to its speed, the battery boasts an impressive energy density of 185 Wh/kg, providing a balance of high performance and compact design.

The Fengxing battery is powered by Svolt’s third-generation short blade cells, which utilize advanced cathode and anode materials to enhance energy output and durability. These innovations not only reduce charging times but also maintain the safety and longevity of the battery, making it a game-changer in the EV industry.

Svolt Energy’s breakthrough signals a step forward in addressing one of the most significant barriers to EV adoption: lengthy charging times. As the global market for EVs expands, such advancements could accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation.
