It was Christmas of 1991 and my family, and I got a present from Santa Claus, and it was a brand-new Super Nintendo. I still remember that Christmas morning to this day.

When the 1980's came to an end the Super Mario Bros. Games became a worldwide phenomenon. It had action, adventure, memorial characters and exciting gameplay. Mario and Luigi were all over stuff like toys, comics, paper cups, ramen, school supplies and the list goes on and on and on.

Super Mario Bros. became a household name and everyone on earth knew Mario and Luigi. However Sega came out with the Mega Drive, and it was actually beating Nintendo. So, in 1990 Nintendo step up to the 16-bit era and released the Super Famicom with 3 launch titles. F-Zero, Politwings and of course Super Mario World.

The game takes place in Dinosaur land where Princess Peach is once again kidnapped by Koopa and his koopalings. This time Mario gets 1 new power-up which is the cape that allows him to fly and glide.

Also, this is the first appearance of Yoshi (You can't count how many games Yoshi is in by now.) Yoshi can use his tongue to eat certain enemies and berries. Certain enemies can make Yoshi grow wings, shoot fireballs and can stomp on some enemies instantly.

Now we are in the greatest era in video games. The 16-Bit era. Welcome to the 1990's.
