The devastating wildfires ravaging Southern California have brought production of the highly anticipated second season of Fallout—Amazon’s series based on Bethesda’s iconic video game franchise—to a halt. Filming initially began on December 4 of last year but was paused for the holidays. Although shooting resumed on January 8, the ongoing emergency has forced further delays, now pushing the start date to February 10, depending on the evolution of the fires and weather conditions. This severe situation has also impacted other productions and film studios across the region.

FilmLA, the agency responsible for issuing filming permits in Los Angeles, confirmed that resources required for film and TV productions in the area are currently unavailable due to the crisis. Additionally, the Los Angeles County Fire Department has revoked all filming permits in affected zones. Even areas not directly threatened by the flames face hazards from smoke and ash, posing significant health risks to cast and crew.

Despite the pause in filming, the creative team has made significant progress on the scripts for Fallout Season 2. Fans eagerly await the return of Walton Goggins, who portrays a memorable ghoul in the series. The first season was a massive success, earning critical and audience acclaim along with multiple nominations and awards. Expectations are high for the second season to live up to its predecessor.
