MSP Footage Captures Moment Semi-Truck Strikes Michigan State Police Cruiser

The incident took place shortly after midnight as troopers were responding to a previous crash. A semi-truck driver attempted to pass slower traffic in the left lane, which was blocked by police vehicles. Upon noticing the blockade, the driver applied the brakes abruptly, lost control, and collided with an empty patrol car, propelling it over 100 yards into another police vehicle occupied by a trooper. The impact prompted a tow truck driver and two troopers to leap over the median wall to avoid being struck. One trooper sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. The semi-truck driver was arrested on charges of reckless driving.
