In 2023 Weatherby introduced the Model 307 action which
was the first new Weatherby centerfire rifle action since the 1960’s. Meant to complement the historic Mark V® and Vanguard® lineups, the Model 307 is a 2-lug, fully cylindrical action compatible with many aftermarket accessories. It features a fluted bolt with a tool-less disassembly, TriggerTech trigger, and a detachable magazine. The goal of 307 was to design an action that could accommodate the vast offerings of stocks, triggers, rails, mounts, and magazines in today’s marketplace. All rifles with Model 307 actions will be built in Weatherby’s Sheridan, WY headquarters, so shooters and hunters can expect the same precision craftsmanship that Weatherby has delivered since 1945.

As a refresher the Model 307 was the first new rifle action platform that Weatherby introduced since the Vanguard line over 50 years ago. The Model 307 was developed to complement the Mark V and Vanguard lines by providing an action that was compatible with 700 footprint parts and aftermarket accessories. We wanted to provide a quality action and rifle but give consumers the freedom to use aftermarket parts that are easily available in the market. I am excited to announce the launch of the Range XP 2.0. This new rifle builds on the momentum of the original Range XP rifle but adds a new look and feel.
