California Wildfire Live Updates Palisades Fire In L A Grows To Nearly 12,000 Acres
Topline The Palisades Fire, located on the coast of Los Angeles, California, has grown to nearly 12,000 acres, officials said Wednesday, as authorities say Los Angeles County’s uncontained flames continue to spread—prompting the evacuation of tens of thousands of people.
Wednesday, 11:40 a.m. PDTThe Palisades Fire in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades—an affluent coastal neighborhood—explodes to 11,802 acres, according to Cal Fire, making it the largest fire of the four burning in Los Angeles County as of Wednesday morning.
Wednesday, 11 a.m.The Eaton Fire in Altadena, a small city directly north of Pasadena, grows to 10,600 acres with 0% containment, according to the Cal Fire.
Wednesday, 10:45 a.m.Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced Los Angeles Fire Department air operations resumed after a lengthy suspension of air support began Tuesday due to high winds.
Wednesday, 8 a.m.County of Los Angeles Fire Chief Anthony Marrone says at least two civilians died in the Eaton Fire, though the cause of their deaths were not disclosed.
