EMBARK ON AN AMAZING 9 DAY ALPINE BACKPACK CATCHING AND COOKING ADVENTURE WITH MY GOOD FRIEND JOHN AND MY DOG BLUE-EYED OLLIE. DAY 1 & 2: ACCLIMATION AND THE JOURNEY BEGINS

The first 48H are our acclimation hours so we avoid altitude sickness. Hiking through the quiet woods and along a creek, we’re greeted by waterfalls and picturesque landscapes. The high altitude tests our endurance, but the views are awe-inspiring which makes it easier to bear.

The trail winds through the remote mountains. By the end of night two, we’re ready for the main event—fishing a lake full of Salmonids.

ANGLING WATERS FILLED WITH FISH

On the third day, we reach a righteous lake, it feels like heaven. The water is so clean and clear you can see the fish. John lands a brown. The fish are colorful and plentiful, from tiny brook to the impressive rainbow. Each catch feels like a ten out of ten.

Surrounded by breathtaking views and the thrill of landing a wiggler, John exclaims, “Check that baby out!” as he holds up a thick meaty golden trout.

DINING IN THE WILDERNESS

We find secret watering holes where the silence is calming. The vivid scenery is stunning and the solitude peaceful.

Each discovery reminds us why we’re here—to reconnect with nature and experience joy. "Into the great wide open," John muses, as an epic scene unfolds.

CHALLENGES & TRIUMPHS

No camping trip is without challenge. From surviving unexpected weather to navigating trails with hefty backpacks, every moment tests our resilience. One unforgettable moment was watching a daring rescue at 12,000 feet. A helicopter appeared through the trees to save an adventurer stranded by injury. The rescue team’s skill and bravery were inspiring, reminding us of the unpredictability of nature and the strength needed to survive it.

Sitting in seclusion, I feel gratitude for the stillness. The wilderness is a place to disconnect. These moments of reflection are as nourishing as the meals we prepare. "The quieting of my soul," I think as the silence envelops me.

Each day, we explore, fish, and feast. The brookies, browns, rainbows, and goldens, are top notch. Their flavor is unmatched, a result of their pure environment.
