Ellie and Dina gaze romantically at each other while dancing, Abby cautiously walks down the hospital corridor to the ominous sounds of an alarm, and Ellie and Dina desperately fend off a horde of infected in an abandoned subway station.

There’s one moment in particular that The Last of Us season 2 trailer has adapted straight from the game that hints at Ellie’s journey in the story. Ellie takes some really dark turns in The Last of Us Part II, and the final moments of the new trailer suggest that the TV show will lean into that darkness. Ellie’s pursuit of revenge drives her to do some really horrific things, and one of the most horrific things she does is teased in the trailer.
