Hello my name is Brandon Blount and I'm a registered dietitian nutritionist and owner of brain and imbalance nutrition today I wanted to talk about something called food noise.
Food noise refers to the constant internal chatter many of us have about food like what to eat how much to eat and when to eat while it's common food noise can become overwhelming especially when these thoughts become obsessive or intrusive impacting our daily lives and overall mental health.
Food noise is often intensified by social infl uencesincluding what we see on social media or hear from friends and family with so much information available on HRS fat diets and food marketing it's easy to feel overwhelmed with conflicting messages when we're constantly exposed to differing opinions on what we should and shouldn't eat or even when we should eat.
Food noise can increase distracting us from activities that we used to enjoy this noise can also be Amplified by sensory overload from the sheer variety of foods and flavors around us this might look like obsessivelycounting calories craving foods like sweets or struggling to listen to your body's own natural hunger cues.
It can even lead to emotional eating as a way to cope with the stress if food noise is something that is impacting your life it's important to seek guidance registered dietitians can help you understand your unique nutritional needs and manage food noise effectively by working with a dietitian.
