The full meeting of the Fairfield County Commissioners' weekly meeting for January 7, 2025.

Notes: There was an un-streamed organizational meeting prior to this meeting at 8:45am and this recording began a few minutes in-progress with the first of several candidates for Board of Developmental Disabilities, Angela Centofanti being interviewed.

Next, there was Public Comments beginning at 22:55 and running through 42:53. First to speak was Baltimore resident, Sue Mazzarini who brought to the commissioners'' attention issues relating to election integrity and the Fairfield County Board of Elections.

Next, Celina McCord a resident of MIllersport asking the Commission to be in solidarity with citizens who oppose industrial solar development. Crystal Ortman of the Thornville area gave similar emotionally charged remarks about industrial solar. Walnut Township Trustee, Bill Yates spoke about zoning issues as relating to industrial solar and too urged the Commission to back opposing the current projects. Sherry Pymer of Walnut Township presented some information about rolling blackouts due to the accelerated closure of conventional power production tied to industrial solar. Lastly, Pastor Jim Condrey of Millersport voiced skepticism on the community benefit of industrial solar. https://citizensforfairfields.org/

Commissioner Steve Davis did make a statement addressing how some may be frustrated with his Ad Hoc position with the Ohio Power Siting Board as relating to the industrial solar development.
