"Ballad of the Denver Airport Wall Murals" by Kevin Blair

Its been quite a while since I wrote an introductory on a piece. but this one demands attention. The Denver airport murals have been the subject of much controversy and theory. They were created thirty years ago by Mexican American artist Leopoldo Tanguma, a very skilled muralist. A lot has been said about the Denver airport itself with all the strange artifacts that can be observed there along with these murals. Everyone who's studied them knows whats been said about them. My intent is to give a musical impression. Its an instrumental that gives a different kind of voice and imput to this extraordinary artwork. There's so very much in these murals that pertain to what was happening then, what happened since, and especially what's taking place now! The music and artwork speak for themselves.
