GAP FILLERS-WHERE DO YOU BELONG IN THE BODY OF CHRIST?

There seems to be a common sound coming out of children when they tell you what they want to be when they grow up. The sound that they make is trying to describe all the different things they want to be, from astronauts to firemen and everything in between.
We expect that from children, but not from grown-ups like you and me. By the time we get tall enough to drive, we often know what place in life God has for us.
In the book of Ezekiel, the 22nd chapter, God is looking for someone to fill a gap.
This was in reference to the building of the wall that would defend the city. God was also referring to a spiritual position that would protect the entire nation of Israel.
It's not unusual for the church family to look over the fence, as it were, to someone else's greener pastures, referring to the gifts they may have or the talents they display.
I want to be like him or her, Lord. I want to sing, prophesy, and write wonderful books about God's secrets. Unfortunately, about halfway through our journey as we mature in Christ, we realize our gifts and Callings don't fit those categories.
Each of us has a place in the body of Christ, somewhat like a gap that needs to be filled. If everyone in the New Testament church had the apostle Paul anointing and calling, where would Peter and John the Revelator come from? The New Testament church would not have been the same without the women who supported it with their time, talents, and treasures.
You and I have a special place to fill in the body of Christ; that place is the Lord's choosing.
The real meaning of faith is trust. Trust that the Lord knows how to place you and give you the gifts to fulfill his purposes.
