Minor Hockey Player Allegedly Raped by Coach in Haridwar, Uttarakhand

A minor hockey player was allegedly raped by her coach, Bhanu Prakash (30), in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The incident came to light after the victim's father filed a complaint on January 5, 2025. The coach has been arrested and suspended from his position as preparations for the upcoming National Games continue. State sports minister Rekha Arya stated that the coach's contract has been terminated and actions are being taken under relevant laws, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
