Rena G.D.E. - RISE

THE ANIMATION - The animation was made in 2005 really just as an exercise to get to know the Blender program. A few years later it was re-purposed as a music video for Rena G.D.E. I chose to make it a video for Rise because that was the only song on Wreathe long enough for it. Though its not a bad fit for it.
Aside from some AI upscaling the animation is unchanged. I considered re-rendering from the original files to fix up the lighting and other rough edges but quickly found it a bit more involved than I have time for. Maybe in the future.

THE SONG – From the first Rena G.D.E. album. We initially created a terrible cover of Kashmir. Scrapped that and wrote a song over the existing drum track. Then scrapped the drum track when Mike joined the band and had him record something different over the existing song. Kind of a backwards way to produce a track.

Over the years Wreathe has been remixed and touched up on a few occasions. Regardless of the remix this song has always been stubbornly wonky. So recently I decided to redo the guitar, make a few chord changes, switch out some lyrics, and a few other nips and tucks. I like the result.
