Nolan Gilbert, a native of Annandale, VA, earned his bachelor's degree in History from George Mason University. Currently based in Helena, MT, he is in his fifth season of wildland firefighting, holding the position of Engine Boss for the DNRC Helena Unit. In 2022, Nolan published his debut poetry collection, titled "Addiction to the Gray". Beyond his literary and firefighting pursuits, he finds joy in writing, playing guitar, coaching baseball, and spending time outdoors.
