Interestingly, Joseph elaborates that Lucifer went ahead to declare war against God and heaven, also enticing the watchers whom God placed over humanity to watch over mankind. Lucifer violated God’s holiness with his pride, his love for glory, and his love for promotion; these sins led to him being driven down from heaven. In addition, Joseph cites Proverbs 8:22-31 to establish that Jesus delighted in the sons of men, unlike Lucifer who took mankind as his sworn enemies out of jealousy for mankind.
