Squid Game Season 2 Premiere: Has the Thrill Faded? Honest Review

Misha from X Society here, just finished S2E1 of Squid Game and… meh. The magic’s gone, folks, but it still may be a fun ride.

Remember that gut-wrenching suspense from S1? Yeah, it’s MIA and I’ve been trying to understand why it feels lower stakes despite the clearly life or death scenarios.

My answer?

Now that we’re all too familiar with the deadly games, the show’s struggling to build tension right out of the gate.

It’s like trying to scare someone with a haunted house they’ve already been through – just doesn’t hit the same.

Don’t get me wrong, the production value’s still top-notch, but that spine-tingling anticipation?

Nowhere to be found. Maybe it will come through in episode 2?

Here’s hoping they’ve got some tricks up their sleeves for the rest of the season because right now, Season 2 feels like the show is playing a game we’ve already won.
