Four Faces West (1948)

Directed by Alfred E. Green, notable for its lack of gunfights or violence. The film stars Joel McCrea as Ross McEwen, a man who robs a bank but only takes what he needs, leaving an IOU promising repayment. On the run, he encounters nurse Fay Hollister (Frances Dee) and a relentless sheriff (Charles Bickford) while struggling with his conscience.
