GIVING BACK TO THE GIVER OF ALL GOOD THINGS

How does acknowledging that all things belong to God change the way you view giving?

For me, acknowledging that everything belongs to God, changes the way I view giving, because it helps me to see just where, and WHO I get what I have comes from. To remind me that God is the one that has given me everything I have, and it causes me to want to show Him gratitude for it. Now don't get me wrong guys, I've heard so many sermons on giving, I feel like they're coming out of my ears. I've heard “sermons” used as manipulation into giving what people don't have, just so a so-called pastor/man of God, can have the latest luxury car, have the huge church with supposedly lots of people in it, house, etc., but in the end, none of what they say is biblical.

That's why tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things that God has been showing you throughout the years on the issue of giving, and how giving should be based on a heart of gratitude. A desire to give back to the very One who's given us every good and perfect gift that we have, because after all He owns it. So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with this final question from this morning's devotional, and I pray that it changes your perspective on giving but also causes you to want to express your gratitude to God through it.

How can expressing your gratitude through giving change you?

I think it starts with really learning what giving is about, and not what it isn't. That it's not based on coercion, manipulation, gaslighting, or deceit. That when one gives, they give because they genuinely want to not because they have to. The people of Israel had a willing heart and mind to give to the Lord, so I pray we have the same mindset. That as we consider everything that God's done for and given us, especially the gift of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, that we start expressing our worship and show our gratitude as well as love just by simply giving back to God, the Giver of every good thing!
