A Direct Democracy on Mars

What kind of government should we put on Mars when given the opportunity to start from scratch? Why wouldn't we want a representative republic like we have in America, as opposed to what Elon Musk is suggesting? Do we want a strong CEO type like Trump running our central government. Or do we want a government just big enough to provide instruction and leave it to capitalism to provide the leadership and innovation? These are important questions for us to answer in the years to come.
