North Korean TV shows Kim's sister walking with children into NYE celebration

North Korean state television showed a brief moment of leader Kim Jong Un's sister, Kim Yo Jong, walking with children to a New Year Eve's celebration.

The children are not identified. North Korea authorities have not announced Kim Yo Jong's family situation. But in recent years state media have increasingly carried strong statements attributed to her.

Russia's Ambassador to North Korea Alexander Matsegora was shown on North Korean TV arriving at the same gathering, and the North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui greeted him.

Leader Kim Jong Un arrived in a motorcade together with his daughter Kim Ju Ae.

They all watched a giant performance of singing and ice skating with a countdown to midnight at New Year's Eve.
