The New Norm Could Now Be Sightings of Super Natural Phenomenas 

The Vatican has issued a new document outlining updated norms for evaluating cases of reported supernatural phenomena. These norms will take effect on Sunday, coinciding with the feast of Pentecost. The document introduces revised guidelines for discerning alleged apparitions and other purported supernatural occurrences. Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, formally presented the document during a press conference at the Holy See's press office. This marks the first update to such guidelines since 1978, when the doctrinal office released norms under Pope St. Paul VI. Under the previous norms, the initial assessment of alleged apparitions, weeping statues, or claimed messages from God, Mary, or the saints was primarily the responsibility of the local bishop. While the new norms maintain the significant role of local bishops, they now require the bishop’s judgment to be submitted to Rome for final approval.
