In 1968 Jerry Starr, a Kenmore West teacher started the Ke-Ton Summer Musical Theatre Workshop. His daughter Syndi says it "was a place for teenagers to have a tribe, who were into theatre and a safe place to perform over the summer." Jerry passed away in 2011 but his children, grandchildren and great gand children are putting together a 50th anniversary show celebrating the start of those Summer musicals. Former students will take part in the show and the plan is to raise money for scholarships. The 50th reunion show is August 18th at Kenmore West, Admission is free, donations are welcome and the group has started a go fund me page.
