X-MEN ’97 Creator Calls Out MARVEL for Race-Swapping Characters

The creator of X-Men ’97, Beau DeMayo, came out against Marvel Studios for race swapping some characters in their upcoming series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

Marvel released their trailer for the new Disney+ series and Beau DeMayo took to social media to complain about how Marvel has a tendency to race swap characters, particularly the villains. The unnecessary race swaps in the new Spider-Man series are something many online have pointed out since the trailer was released. Of course, DeMayo has a rocky history with Marvel Studios since they fired him before his hit series was released and have gone on to accuse him of misconduct behind the scenes.
