This movie recap is set in September 11, 2001. The US Army Captain Mitch Nelson, recently assigned to staff duty, volunteers to lead Green Berets ODA 595 into Afghanistan following the terrorist attacks. Initially declined, Nelson regains command after veteran soldier Hal Spencer, delaying his retirement, advocates for him. Departing their families, the team arrives in Uzbekistan on October 7, 2001, where they are selected to collaborate with Northern Alliance leader Abdul Rashid Dostum.
