Russian naval logistics in Crimea effectively destroyed – Ukrainian Navy

Ukrainian Navy deems Russian naval logistics in Crimea inoperative, marking a key milestone in degrading Russian operations in the Black Sea region

Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk said this when asked about the losses of the Russian Black Sea Fleet this year, Ukrinform reports.

"Quantitative indicators are important, but qualitative indicators carry more weight. I’m not only referring to the ships Russia has lost but also to the critical stages we’ve now overcome. One such milestone is that the Russians have essentially abandoned Crimea in terms of the Black Sea Fleet. Another significant achievement is the near-complete destruction of Russia’s naval logistics supporting their forces in Crimea," Pletenchuk said.

He further highlighted that another crucial stage is the liberation of the Sea of Azov from the presence of Russian warships.

"This is by no means the full extent of our capabilities. Nevertheless, we are steadily progressing. This yearwas challenging for us, but it was even more difficult for the Russians in the Azov-Black Sea region. Now they fully understand that even the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov and the Krasnodar Territory are no longer secure zones for them. We’ve proven this, forcing them to adapt, which significantly complicates their operations," Pletenchuk added. He explained that these developments allow the Ukrainian Navy to plan future operations with these achievements in mind.

According to him, these successes complicate life for the Russians in the Azov-Black Sea region and force them to take security risks into account. Such achievements allow the Naval Forces to plan their actions considering this situation. The main achievements of the Naval Forces over the year include the liberation of the Azov Sea and Crimea from Russian presence, as well as the complete elimination of threats in the Black Sea, apart from Russian bases. Pletenchuk also noted that Russia has lost the ability to deliver military ammunition and fuel to Crimea. It should be noted that previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the end of the war in Ukraine and the conditions of U.S. President Donald Trump
