This American has been on the ground helping Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina, he describes what’s currently happening

- FEMA and just about every insurance agency has denied almost everyone's claim

- They're closing all the shelters because they think they're not needed. Meanwhile, everybody is freezing, hungry and homeless

- Everything that's being done is being done by volunteers

- And to top it off, the news is trying to convince you that it's not f*cking happening

So is anybody else having like a really difficult time connecting with people outside of the Disaster Zone, these days?

Because like you scroll through TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, text messages, what have you, and everybody's sitting there like, "Oh! My kid didn't want to go to school, my landlord's a jerk, my dryer died, I got a flat tire!"

And you're sitting there like, "Bitch, Bob is dead under a pile of dirt, we can't even find him, right now! The bridge is gone, his house is four miles down the f@cking river.

"FEMA and just about every insurance agency has denied everyone's claim, so everything that's being done is being done by volunteers!

"They're closing all the shelters because they think they're not needed – meanwhile, everybody is freezing, hungry and homeless – and to top it off, the news is trying to convince you that it's not fucking happening!

"We can't relate anymore. I'm having a very difficult time. I'm sorry about your kid, your landlord, your tire, and your dryer, but this is stupid."
