While initial investigations are pointing to a bird strike as the reason why a Jeju Air plane crashed in South Korea, killing 179 people, experts suspect it can't be the sole reason. Bird strikes are so common now, that they are factored into the design of modern planes. So even if a bird strike had affected one of the engines of the Boeing 737 plane, there should've still been plenty of power for a safe landing.
