Professor Ian Plimer is Australia’s best-known Geologist and the Emeritus Professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne.

He was Professor at the University of Newcastle, Professor at the University of Adelaide and Professor in Munich, Germany. He has published more than 130 scientific papers on geology and he has received numerous national and international awards for his scientific work.

Now he has written his thirteenth book for the general public, The Little Green Book – a series of three books for primary school children (Ankle-biters), secondary children (Teens) and post high school (Twenties & Wrinklies).

Prof. Plimer joins us to discuss the books, including his motivations for writing them and what message he hopes to get across to the readers. He also gives us an update on his treatment for cancer, including expressing his views on the modern health system.
