Video shows plane on runway before it bursts into flames

On December 28, 2024, Air Canada Express Flight 2259 crash-landed at Halifax Stanfield International Airport due to a suspected landing gear failure. The plane skidded off the runway, causing one wing to catch fire. Fortunately, all 73 passengers and crew members were safely evacuated. Passengers described flames and smoke entering the cabin during the landing. The airport temporarily suspended operations, causing delays.
