12-29-24 Thyatira, the 4th Church of Revelations
Rev 2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
Rev 2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
Rev 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
Rev 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
Rev 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
Rev 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Rev 2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
Rev 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Rev 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
Rev 2:28 And I will give him the morning star.
Rev 2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Thyatira is in ruins, but the city it was located in is now Akhisar in the Turkey’s far west
Akhisar is known for its olive and textile industry
Digging for truth says: The two leading industries were the manufacture of instruments of brass, bronze, and other metals, and the manufacture and dyeing of cloth, especially of the royal purple.
Acts 16:12 And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.
Acts 16:13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
Acts 16:14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
Acts 16:15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
It is entirely possible this is the origin of the church at Thyatira
The message to this church from the Lord is both encouraging and concerning
They were both commended and some of them were sorely corrected
The message was against the allure of allowing false teaching into the church
And it’s horrible deadly outcome when followed
Rev 2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
This is obviously the lord Jesus
He is telling them He is vitally involved in their everyday life
Rev 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
Remember the primary industries in Thyatira were the manufacture of instruments of brass, bronze and other metals
And the manufacture and dyeing of cloths
Thus the eyes of fire in the molding of metals in hot fire
And the bronze feet that walks among them
It also refers to the piercing of fire into the heart of man
In that He sees all the way through every man and burns up the chaff
Rev 2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
Said better in the New living Translation:
“I know all the things you do. I have seen your love, your faith, your service, and your patient endurance. And I can see your constant improvement in all these things.
Rev.2.19 NLT
I see everything you’re doing for me. Impressive! The love and the faith, the service and persistence. Yes, very impressive! You get better at it every day.
Rev.2.19 MSG
Rev 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
As good as they were doing
Here was a significant problem
Bad doctrine that seduced believers into thinking they were ok sinning when they are not
But why do you let that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet mislead my dear servants into Cross-denying, self-indulging religion? I gave her a chance to change her ways, but she has no intention of giving up a career in the god-business. I’m about to lay her low, along with her partners, as they play their sex-and-religion games. The bastard offspring of their idol-whoring I’ll kill. Then every church will know that appearances don’t impress me. I x-ray every motive and make sure you get what’s coming to you.

Eating meat sacrificed to idols
Paul said it was ok unless it offended someone
1Cor 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
1Cor 10:24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
1Cor 10:25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
1Cor 10:26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.
1Cor 10:27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
1Cor 10:28 But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:
1Cor 10:29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?
1Cor 10:30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
1Cor 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
1Cor 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
1Cor 10:33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
The church elders had forbidden it in Acts
Acts 15:23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
Acts 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
Acts 15:25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
Acts 15:26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 15:27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
Acts 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
Acts 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
The Jezebel spirit teaches that spiritual authority is not to be obeyed or given priority
It is a self centered teaching that lulls to sleep put self on the throne without the cross
Scripture nuggets puts it right on the target:
Satan will hide a pint of lies in a lake of truth, and those lies, when mixed in it, will go undetected. Those lies will sound so scriptural and so believing… but they work death.
Fornication is not only physical sex sin but adultery with the world system
The Jezebel spirit lies against the word in a subtle way seducing those who hear to think they are ok when their life is in great danger
The Word is to sanctify us
The Word is to wash us clean
The Word is truth and truth makes us free
The Word is our mirror, to see who we are in Christ
The Word is our confession to overcome the enemy
To dilute this Word or outright deny it
Is fatal on earth and in the afterlife
The church at Thyatira followed a mans word in the name of a prophet
Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Rev 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
This is the only time I see grace mentioned herein
Where is this sloppy grace teaching in these churches?
Rev 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
I gave her time to be sorry for her sins and turn from them. She does not want to turn from her sex sins. See! I will throw her on a bed. Those who do sex sins with her will suffer much trouble and pain. I will let them suffer unless they are sorry for the sins they have done with her and turn from them.

Rev.2.21-22 NLV

Repentance is still required to avoid trouble, tribulation and hell

Rev 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Children are referred to here as being the followers of such teachings

Killing them is sowing and reaping in action

They will die without protection because they set in motion death in their life and did not repent

Rev 2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
But I also have a message for the rest of you in Thyatira who have not followed this false teaching (‘deeper truths,’ as they call them—depths of Satan, actually). I will ask nothing more of you
Rev.2.24 NLT
The rest of you Thyatirans, who have nothing to do with this outrage, who scorn this playing around with the Devil that gets paraded as profundity, be assured I’ll not make life any harder for you than it already is. Hold on to the truth you have until I get there.

Scripture nuggets says of the deep things of satan:
In general terms “the deep things” of Satan are evils that appear good, sin that is in a righteous disguise, flesh activities that are called Spirit, and hidden sins and activities that are labeled “Christian.” Satan is always a deceiver.

2Cor 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Cor 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Cor 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Rev 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

The promise to the overcomers to share in His victory

Rev 2:28 And I will give him the morning star.
That is the promise of a new life, resurrection, heaven
Rev 2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
