Sudden SHOCK Shift In Gaza Floors Netanyahu!
Right, so once again Israelis have been sent scrambling for shelters as air raid sirens go off warning of an impending attack and with 10 days straight of attacks from the Houthis in Yemen disturbing their sleep, you can imagine those running for safety will have been thinking it is them again, but although they were involved in another strike last night, it wasn’t just them as it happens, as for the first time in a long time, and once more underlining the failure of the Netanyahu regime in Gaza, rockets were fired by Hamas and not only were they fired, but they got past Israel’s ailing defence systems as well.
But it gets even worse for Netanyahu because of where in Gaza these rockets were fired from, the most intensely cleared and ethnically cleansed northern reaches of the Gaza Strip, demonstrating not only that Hamas are still functional, but still armed and still capable of striking Israel despite everything they have done and actually this response, coming now as it has, will likely prove to be entirely on Netanyahu himself given what he’s just gone and done.
Right, so first let’s start with what Netanyahu has done which has triggered the beginning of Hamas attacks on Israel once more and for those who have been paying attention to matters pertaining to Israel and Hamas in recent weeks, you’ll know that they are supposedly engaged in further ceasefire talks, that this is what they’ve been doing, that these have been mediated between Qatar and Egypt and one of the big concessions that had been discussed was Hamas agreeing to allow Israel to remain in Gaza in exchange for a ceasefire. They would allow IDF troops to remain in certain areas, such as the Netzarim Corridor that Israel had built across the middle of the Gaza Strip, that the IDF has been fortifying in recent weeks as a for instance, again conceding ground to either appease Israeli concerns and get that ceasefire, or expose Netanyahu for being a dishonest peace broker as he has proven to be time after time after time, always changing the remit of the negotiators and causing peace talks to fail. This move by Hamas of course put Netanyahu on the backfoot, and indeed being that dishonest broker, he has again changed the rules of what he wants and by Wednesday of this week, Christmas Day, he decided that not only did he want his troops to stay in Gaza, but he wanted them to remain in control of the Philadelphi Corridor, one thing Hamas could not allow, the border as this is between Gaza and Egypt and Israel remaining in control of it is a violation of Peace Accords between Israel and Egypt that have remained in place since 1979, the Camp David Accords which I’ve spoken about before. It simply isn’t something therefore, that any party can agree to, Netanyahu knows it, but alongside that he demanded more detailed information about the hostages Hamas still hold, increasingly more difficult to do it is alleged, because of how badly scattered they are in the Strip these days.
To cut a long story short, Netanyahu has done it again. Despite being given a pass to stay in Gaza, he’s decided to detonate the peace talks, because this is absolutely not what he wants. Again the hostage prove to be meaningless to him, because he will not do what is necessary to rescue them, it would cost him his job, it would cost him power to do that, because his hard right coalition partners would never allow it, they being beholden to the settler movement and the settlers very much want Gaza. He can never agree to end this war if he wants to stay in power, it’s a fact, he has put himself first all the way and it isn’t just observers like me saying it, it’s the families of those hostages in Israel who are saying it, as this excerpt from the Quds News Network shows:
‘In a press conference during a protest in Tel Aviv, the families said Netanyahu’s actions show a desire to cling to power. They stated that he has been using various pretexts to block the deal, including insisting on control over the Philadelphi Corridor on Gaza’s border with Egypt and demanding detailed lists of prisoners.
A spokesperson for the Families of Israeli Prisoners addressed Trump directly stating that Netanyahu is sabotaging the swap deal. “You are the only one who can pressure him”, he said.
The families called for Israel to end the war in Gaza through a comprehensive prisoner exchange. “Our prisoners face imminent death, and we cannot afford to lose our soldiers to political games,” they said.
Hamas recently stated that new conditions set by Israel delayed a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. These negotiations are reportedly taking place in Doha and Cairo.’
Desperate families now so despairing of their vainglorious and narcissistic Prime Minister that they’re appealing to Donald Trump of all people to talk sense into someone else. Israel have killed more of these hostages themselves than they’ve rescued, so what to do?
Well this certainly triggered Hamas to do something arguably much of the world, Israel especially figured they could no longer do and that is launch rockets in Israel’s direction and not only launch rockets for the first time in a long time, but do so and get past the air defence systems at that too.
Even more surprising than that though, is where the rockets were launched from, because they came from northern Gaza, the same northern Gaza where mass ethnic cleansing and forced displacement of people has been going on, the same northern Gaza where the IDF have been so focused on destroying the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia and arresting their staff and evicting all the patients capable of doing so before they torched the building regardless of who was left inside. All of that was done in the name of rooting out Hamas, saying the hospital was a Hamas base as they always do and yet Hamas were perfectly capable of not only having the numbers, but having the ordnance and the wherewithal to launch rockets – long range ones at that, they reached Jerusalem, evading air defences until just before they reached target - from nearby Beit Hanoun instead! The IDF were in the wrong place, but hey, it’s all about flattening Gaza to create prime real estate right? That’s the real truth isn’t it? Needless to say the IDF have now ordered the evacuation of Beit Hanoun, but the chances of Hamas still being there and not having moved off elsewhere are pretty slim I would think.
There’s been no attacks from Gaza, from Hamas on Israel in ages, Israel and the US have claimed that has been because they have destroyed all of Hamas’ capabilities to do such things and yet clearly they were wrong and evidently the reason there had been no rocket fire was because Hamas it would appear, were more honest ceasefire talks brokers than Israel, downing tools, engaging in the talks, making concessions and Israel still tore it up. Time for talk is once again over sadly it seems, but then talks can only succeed when both sides are honestly taking part in them and under no circumstances does anybody with any common sense, including the families of the hostages still held by Hamas, believe Netanyahu is such an honest broker.
Beit Hanoun, like most of northern Gaza has been of particular focus by Israeli forces and yet they’ve missed Hamas there despite that, they’ve failed to find ordnance they clearly still had there and if anything it’s a show of how badly Israel have failed on the ground to achieve any of their purported goals, namely to rout Hamas, destroy them and rescue the hostages, because typically in the past rocket fire from Hamas has come from central Gaza and Khan Younis, not the north, so it seems Hamas wanted to make a point of this. All Israel have really achieved is massive destruction and genocide whilst leaving Hamas not only intact, but growing again under new leadership and they’re still very much armed the Walla news outlet in Israel quoting southern commanders who have stated Hamas are very much rebuilding their rocket capabilities.
Meanwhile of course aside from Hamas shocking Israel with the fact they still have rockets, can still fire and from northern Gaza at that, the Houthis were on day 11 in a row of setting off air raid sirens as they let go another of their Palestine 2 ballistic missiles, this time targeting the Nevatim air base in the Negev Desert south of the West Bank, it’s a different target every night for them. The Houthis claim the missile hit, Israel claimed they shot it down, we’re quite used to such exchanges by now and whether it did hit or not, sirens were sounded, people were disturbed, that I still think is the main purpose of these nightly rocket attacks by the Houthis in Israel, but one thing the Houthis definitely did hit was their 13th American made MQ-9 Reaper drone of the year, $300,000 a pop, brought down near the Yemeni capital of Sanaa and again it must be underlined that all Israel need to do to get a good night’s sleep from the Houthis is to get out of Gaza. Netanyahu has again derailed that, so no rest for the wicked as the saying goes.
Meanwhile, the Houthis may be considering expanding their reach as a war of words has echoed over the small matter of HTS in Syria allowing Israel to seize ground with impunity and not protect their people now, the people of Syria from further incursion. Could matters escalate there? Check out this video recommendation as your suggested next watch to find out all about that.
