1 Timothy 1:13, Paul's (Saul of Tarsus) former life was not good, but God was mighty to save, converting Paul from a blasphemer and persecutor into a child of God, to share the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ's salvation to the rest of the world
1 Timothy 1:13, former unbelief: doubting God or being rude and disrespectful to God
1 Timothy 1:14-16, but God is faithful and mighty to save. Because of God's love, Jesus Christ gave His life to fulfill the law on the cross (took the sinner's punishment and debt on Himself). This is the chance and offer given to the rest of the world, if they will take it, follow God, repent of their sins, spread the good news of this offering, and live as a practical good example of the work God has done for them in saving them.
1 Timothy 1:17, the honor and glory God deserves for His love: because of the reason of the hope in all believers, they worship God.
