Man Recording Countdown Spectacle Drops Phone Moments Before Epic Launch

Footage, filmed on July 28, 2018 in Readington, New Jersey, USA shows a crowd of people gathered at the Ballooning Festival waiting for the famous countdown when a man is launched off in the air and into a safety net in the sky.

The entire crowd is facing the man in the canon, cheering for him to brave up and prepare for the shoot-off. As additional incentive, the famous AC-DC hit “Thunderstruck” plays in the background. Tension rises as the man, dressed in a red uniform, waves to the crown, encouraging more cheers from them as he enters the canon. The speaker starts counting down from ten to one and that is when the most unexpected thing happens. The filmmaker gets a shaky hand and drops the phone only seconds before the man is launched in the air! Talk about a fail video, right!

The embarrassed man picks up the cellphone from the ground and continues filming the show, which is all over now, much to our disappointment. How did that happen? Was this a prank for viewers or did this man lose his balance and dropped the phone due to lack of control in his hand grip? We would never know!

We couldn’t help but laugh at this hilarious countdown fail. We bet the man from this video will have a very firm grip and a steady hand the next time he dares to film a video. He will even probably be super careful when filming in big crowds as chances are someone might walk pass by and accidentally push you, causing you to drop the cellphone or switch the focus on screen. You know how they say, we learn from our mistakes!
