Guardsmen of the Center group of troops who took part in the liberation of the settlement of Novopustynka in the Donetsk People's Republic spoke about the progress of the assault. The assault aircraft, supported by an armored group, quickly entered the forest belts near Novopustynka and destroyed units of Ukrainian militants who had taken up positions in fortifications and firing points.

The brigade's reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle crews conducted reconnaissance to identify firing positions and concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel located in forest belts. Artillery crews and strike drone crews, including those with ammunition drop systems, were used to destroy the exposed positions. The assault on the settlement was carried out by small groups from three sides, first a frontal attack was made on the defense and the first houses were captured, after which the outflanking groups entered the flanks of the enemy defense.

Ukrainian militants attempted to transfer reinforcements for a counterattack, but were stopped by artillery fire and minefields. Some of the equipment and personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed, the rest left the battlefield, fleeing. The stormtrooper guards liberated the settlement and installed the Russian tricolor on one of the buildings.
