Hello everyone. In this morning's Bible study we continue to explore God's plan and purposes for creation.

Why did God create us? What is the purpose of this life?

This is the only reason that God has given us concerning the purposes behind all the things that He has decreed and the things which He determines to allow.

Deut. 4:39
Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the LORD Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.
Deut. 7:9-11
“Therefore KNOW THAT THE LODRD YOUR GOD, HE IS GOD. the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face. Therefore you shall keep the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which I command you today, to observe them.

The only purpose given to mankind is that we may know that the LORD is God and for us to glorify Him as the God of all creation.

Well, then what does that have to do with Israel?

Please remember that Israel is a type of gospel. Israel is the believer who is a slave to the Devil, Pharaoh, held captive as a slave in his kingdom of darkness.

Jacob went their willingly and actually loved being there UNTIL the consequences of his sins began to impact daily life.

In Satan's kingdom the pleasures of sins are temporarily rewarding, enjoyable, and pleasant. The kingdom of the flesh is called Egypt. Even without Pharaoh, the Devil, Egypt has many pleasures, false religions, and lustful passions that are ready to fulfill all the desires of mankind's wicked imaginations and lustful desires.

God choses on His own, to set His love upon us (all believers represented by Israel the new nature not Jacob the old nature), calls us out of Egypt to bring us to the promise land (the New Jerusalem).

For what purpose? That we may know Him, that He alone is God, and that we might serve Him as priests of God throughout all eternity.

Today's study is 1 hour and 5 minutes in duration. I have broken it into two segments. This is segment 1 of 2 titled Israel, My Elect. Why did God elect Israel? Part 1.
