Ba Chua Xu Festival of Sam Mountain

The Ba Chua Xu Festival in Sam Mountain is a traditional festival preserved and practiced for many generations in Chau Doc, An Giang. The festival is imbued with the culture of the residents of the Southwest region, demonstrating the identity and continuity of the Kinh community in the process of cultural exchange with the Chinese, Khmer, and Cham people. In 2014, the Festival was included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage (ICH) by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. However, the values ​​of the Festival are also consistent with the criteria of UNESCO's 2003 Convention to become a representative ICH of humanity.
