Azerbaijan Airlines says the jet that crashed in Kazakhstan on Christmas Day experienced “physical and technical external interference,” according to an early investigation. But as questions swirl about Russia’s possible involvement in the crash, the country's aviation chief said a “Ukrainian drone attack” was taking place in the Chechnya region at the time the plane attempted to land, before diverting to Kazakhstan and crashing.
