Russians want to eliminate Kadyrov, increase in drone attacks on Grozny is no coincidence
Ukraine may not be involved in the UAV strikes on Grozny. This assumption was made on air by Ukrainian military observer Denis Popovich on Kiev 24.
"Kadyrov has a lot of enemies, particularly in the middle of Chechnya, Ichkeria. It is quite possible that they can influence him in this way to destabilize the situation there. And create a hotbed of tension. It will certainly be to our advantage, since it creates additional problems for the leadership of the Russian Federation," Popovich said.
At the same time, he added that Ukraine’s involvement in this attack should not be ruled out.
"Our drones can also attack Grozny. Since the attacks are aimed at a military facility, this is a military institution of the so-called Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs," the observer explained.
He also commented on the information about the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane in Kazakhstan, which was flying to Chechnya.
"A strange situation with the plane that crashed today on the territory of Kazakhstan, although it was supposed to land in Grozny. We saw a video with mysterious holes. In my opinion, it was shot down. Because these holes are very similar to how a surface-to-air missile works. It approaches an air target, the radio detonator is triggered, the warhead is triggered and it throws out a cloud of debris that hits the aircraft," Popovich stated.
Recall, on December 25, explosions thundered in the city of Grozny in the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation. Local publics reported at least four explosions in the area of the special regiment base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
This is not the first drone attack in Chechnya. In particular, on December 15, drones struck a riot police base in Grozny. Video from the site of the strike showed damaged buildings and several riot police officers inspecting the aftermath of the attack.
Recall, With no serious challenge to his rule, Kadyrov has also expanded his influence beyond Chechnya's borders. People in several Russian regions who criticized Kadyrov have been forced to publicly apologize to him or face abduction or murder. His business empire also extends beyond Chechnya. In recent months, he has been involved in a dramatic conflict with Dagestani billionaire Suleiman Kerimov over the control of Russia's largest online retailer, Wildberries.
Kadyrov's men broke into Wildberries' office not far from the Kremlin in Mstarted a shootout that resulted in two people being killed and around 10 being injured.
He has also tried to extend his influence abroad, presenting himself as a protector of Muslims worldwide.oscow in September and
