Cymatics is the study of visible effects of sound and vibration, a term coined in the 1960s by Swiss physician Hans Jenny. Think of sound as waves of energy moving through the air. When these waves hit a surface – like water in a dish or salt on a metal plate – they make that surface vibrate in specific ways.
