German president dissolves parliament for 2025 snap election

President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Friday (December 27) announced that Germany's lower house of parliament will be dissolved to pave the way for snap elections on February 23, following the collapse of Chancellor Olaf Scholz's three-way coalition.
