The Washington Valor did the improbable Saturday night in Baltimore, rewriting the script of their season as they went from worst to first, defeating the Brigade 69-55 to capture the Arena Football League Championship. The Valor earned just two wins during the AFL’s regular season, advancing to the playoffs by virtue of the league’s inclusion of all four teams in its postseason. Washington relied on the first-round’s home-and-home series aggregate scoring rules to advance over the Albany Empire for a date against Baltimore in Arena Bowl XXXI.
