Russian ballet is regarded as the best in the world, and after seeing the Nutracker in the historical Mariinsky theater of Saint Petersburg, I would have to agree 🩰 Going to see the Nutcracker before Christmas or New Years is a tradition in many Russian families, and theater is considered an integral part in Russian culture 🎭 It is a magical moment that transports you into a β€˜skazka’, or fairytale. ✨ But although the beautiful dancers make it look so effortless, it is anything but! Hard work, dedication, and years of rigorous training go into the technique required to perform on stage. I got the opportunity to talk to such a dancer, one who graduated from the acclaimed Vaganova academy and is now performing full time in the Mariinsky. Oh, and he happens to be half American, half Japanese! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ Meet Aaron Osawa-Horowitz, who will give you a glimpse into a ballet dancers life in Russia πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί

If you would like to follow Aaron along on his dancer’s journey or see him perform, here is his Instagram 🩰 https://www.instagram.com/aaron__oh?i...
