I worked with H1B programmers and they were almost never "highly skilled! They were trained on the job, often by higher paid Americans, who they replaced.

The mass acceptance of foreign students is encouraged by educational institutions who profit. Same exactly in Australia. The infrastructure, services and housing can't cope with the disproportionate import of such high numbers. House prices are artificially high. Service stations are populated by Indian students who seductively 'do' provide,usually, a very polite and efficient service to customers. If parents encouraged their children to work in service industries to help fund family resources and get a footing as to how basic business works it would help productivity. It's long been pondered how any nation can develop without a semi servant class. Who will be the servants? Do we pay and elevate the servants in an egalitarian manner and can we afford it? Even Singapore, a rich sanitised nation have a hidden population of low skilled workers in crowded accommodation greasing the machinery of a functioning nation. It boils down to whether a class or money system can be accepted. That is where some employ and are lords and others are in employ and serve. Egalitarianism ends up being something like communism. This is a dilemma often perused and if determined could set a process whereby spot fires of issues are no longer dealt with in silos, but coordinated. Conditions and approach are always in flux and no former historical period will fit a current one perfectly.

You guys are missing reality: most top colleges offer college courses online that are priced cheaper for students in other countries, subsidized by American citizens and taxes.

IF THEY WANT AND NEED WORKERS TRAIN AMERICANS TO DO THE JOBS!!!!

Isn't the H-1B program also used to bring in farm workers? We need that part because Americans are too lazy or germ phobic to do farm labor.

I can understand that after WW2 the US wanted to bring over Goddard and his crew because the US had no equivalent at that time. What we didnt need was 1000s of German workers to replace expensive American workers.

Worth highlighting that "coding" is tech the way putting batteries in a flashlight is being an electrician. Facebook and Instagram aren't tech per se.

Send them all back to their home country, basically clean it all out, and then start all over by allowing US citizens to apply and fill those jobs first. This is driving up housing and food prices too.

Personal saving is what you have left after expenses. Shut H-1b down until the personal saving rate goes above 10% If it falls below 7% start sending H-1b workers home. If it falls below 4% raise the minimum wage by 10%

They say we don't have the skills, yet it's our tech computer workers training these H-1B workers. They come from China and mainly India and most are Muslims. They get less pay, hurt our wages, kill our jobs, college students can't get a job except for Mcd's and like the guy in the video said, they are chosen via lottery not by how qualified they are. what BS is this? Our children grow up, go to college, pay for the rest of their life to pay it off, can't get a job in their field, they learn college educations in order to teach these foreigners how to do their job, WTF!
