SONY CEO Says MADAME WEB and KRAVEN Were Good Movies Ruined by Critics

The outgoing CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment is claiming Madame Web and other Spider-Man spin-off movies like Kraven the Hunter were good movies hurt by critics.

This is obviously a poor excuse since we’ve seen time and time again how movies have succeeded despite poor critical reception. We have also seen movies fail with critical praise. The fact is these movies failed in part because audiences weren’t asking for them and they weren’t good. However, an argument could be made that the poor reception to Madame Web could have helped it find success when it went to Netflix. There it quickly made the top 10 list with people watching to see just how bad it is.
