All Those Eggs Did NOT increase LDL cholesterol, it actually dropped 20%!

Averaging 24 eggs per day for a total of 133,200mg of cholesterol. That's one egg per hour every hour for a whole month.

Even though dietary intake of cholesterol more than quintupled, LDL cholesterol dropped 2% over the first 2 weeks, then it dropped another 18% over the subsequent 2 weeks.

Dietary cholesterol doesn't raise serum cholesterol. This is due to the fact that cholesterol binds to receptors on gut cells & this stimulates the release of a hormone called Cholesin.

The hormone Cholesin binds to its receptor on the liver, called GPR146 & this inhibits endogenous cholesterol synthesis by the liver.
