Let There Be Light

Around this season, many different religions have a celebration involving light, whether it’s Christmas with all its lights, the lights of Chanukah, the Buddhist Bodhi Day (when Siddhartha Gautama sat under the Bodhi tree and got enlightened, becoming the Buddha), the Hindu festival of Diwali, or any of numerous others. Light seems to be a common theme of religious experiences around this time of year.
